Manipur internet ban: Things are getting stressful once again in Manipur. It is reported that after the arrest of Maetai leaders, protests started in many areas. In view of the situation, the Manipur government has closed internet services in five districts of the state for five days. These districts include Imphal West, Imphal East, Thulbal, Kakching and Vishnupur. More people have been banned in these districts.
This decision has been taken to avoid increasing stress and rumors in the state. The government fears that some people may spoil the atmosphere by spreading inflammatory messages and false news on social media. It has been said in the government’s order that this can cause people’s lives, damage to property and communal tension. Therefore, services like mobile internet, social media app, VPN, Dongle have been closed from 11:45 pm.
