Just now we proudly celebrated 75 years of the Constitution. PM Modi said that the country is also celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda and Sardar Patel. Also celebrated the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The journey of Vande Mataram of 150 years has passed through many stages.

PM Modi targeted the opposition
Taking aim at the opposition, PM Modi said, when Vande Mataram completed 50 years, the country was forced to live in slavery. When Vande Mataram completed 100 years, the country was in the chains of Emergency. Then the Constitution of India was strangled. When Vande Mataram turned 100 years old, people who lived and died for patriotism were put behind bars. Then a dark period came to light.

PM Modi said that 150 years is an opportunity to re-establish that great chapter, that glory. This is Vande Mataram, which brought independence to the country in 1947. The emotional leadership of the freedom struggle was in the slogan of Vande Mataram. This is a sacred festival for all of us public representatives to accept the colors of Vande Mataram.

The country should become self-reliant- PM Modi
PM Modi further said in his address that the country should become self-reliant. Let us remain a developed India in 2047. Vande Mataram is a great opportunity to reiterate this resolve.
This journey of Vande Mataram was started by Bankim Chandra ji in 1875. The song was written at a time when the British Sultanate was in panic after the war of independence in 1857. The atrocities on India were continuing. At that time, there was a conspiracy going on to make their national song – God Save the Queen – reach every home. At such a time, Bankim Da challenged. The brick was answered with a stone. Out of this Vande Mataram was born.

PM Modi said that Vande Mataram had a connect with the people and this reflects the long story of our freedom struggle. The British had understood that it was difficult to survive in India for a long time. PM Modi said that the slogan of Vande Mataram was enough to give sleepless nights to the British, hence he banned it.
