Amidst the Bihar Assembly elections, JDU candidate from Mokama, Anant Kumar Singh, has been arrested late night along with his two associates Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram. Senior officials of Patna gave this information in an emergency press conference. The arrest took place from Bedna village and the reason for this has been said to be a serious violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
In the press conference, Patna DM Dr. Thiagarajan S.M. Said that the administration has taken this incident “very seriously”. He warned that the Model Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced and all licensed weapons will have to be compulsorily surrendered to ensure peaceful elections.

SSP confirmed the murder case
Patna’s SSP Karthikeya K. Sharma said that the administration and police are jointly investigating the matter thoroughly. Citing evidence and statements, the SSP also confirmed a murder case related to this incident.
‘A CID team has been deployed for investigation’
He said, “Three arrests have been made in this case, including Anant Singh, and further raids are underway.” Considering the seriousness of the matter, a CID team has also been appointed to investigate. Referring to the postmortem report, the SSP gave an important information that bullet marks were found on the body of the deceased, although no bullet was recovered (from the spot).
SSP Sharma also said that special checking points with more than 50 CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) personnel have been created in every constituency to keep a strict vigil and take immediate action against law breakers.
