There is now a dispute over the construction of Kedareshwar Temple in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. The pilgrim priests of Kedarnath have expressed their anger on this subject. Chardham Mahapanchayat has warned of the movement, he has raised questions raised on the silence of BKTC.
Explain that controversy has arisen over the construction of ‘Kedareshwar Temple’ by Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The pilgrim priests of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand have expressed sharp opposition to this temple built on the lines of Kedarnath temple. The pilgrim priests of Chardham Mahapanchayat and Kedarnath have warned of protest against the SP chief, calling it a messing with religious sentiments.
Santosh Trivedi, the vice president of Chardham Mahapanchayat and senior pilgrimage of Kedarnath Dham, said that Kedarnath Dham is not only a temple but it is the center of faith of crores of Hindus which has religious and historical significance. In such a situation, the construction of the temple in another state by the same form and name is an insult to the religious traditions and the feelings of the devotees.
The pilgrim priests have alleged that the Kedareshwar temple in Etawah is a completely replica of the Kedarnath temple in which names, structure, color and form are almost the same. He has described it as a messing with the faith, tradition and honor of the local people of Uttarakhand. Santosh Trivedi has also said that the cabinet of Uttarakhand has already passed a proposal to ban such symbolic construction. Despite this, such construction work is unfortunate.
The pilgrim priests made this demand
The pilgrim priests also said that earlier also when a similar temple was started in Delhi. So there was a protest all over the country and later construction had to be stopped. Now if there is no appropriate action regarding the temple in Etawah, then demonstrations will also be held outside the residence of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Chardham Mahapanchayat has also raised serious questions on the silence of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC). The pilgrim priests said that all the focus of BKTC is on earning while no basic facilities are being provided to the passengers. He alleged that the committee remains inactive on such serious religious issues.
The pilgrim priests have demanded from the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh that the name, design and appearance of the temple built in Etawah should be replaced immediately. He warned that if the demands are not met, then the pilgrim priests will make a big movement across Uttarakhand and across the country.

The pilgrim priests also said that Akhilesh Yadav has never traveled to Kedarnath Dham till date. But he has tried to take religious political advantage in Uttar Pradesh by copying the temple there, which is not acceptable to us.
This dispute has come to light at a time when people’s sensitivity about religious symbols and traditions is constantly increasing across the country. Now it has to be seen what the Yogi government and BKTC take on this issue.
