There is a sharp reaction at the international level regarding the US military action in Venezuela and the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro. United Nations chief expressed concern
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern over the Venezuela crisis. He said that in the case of US military intervention and arrest of President Maduro, the UN Charter and international law should be respected. Strong opposition from Russia, demand for Maduro’s release
Russia strongly criticized America’s action in the United Nations. The Russian representative called it a violation of international law and demanded the immediate release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. Russia said that such a violation of the sovereignty of any country cannot be accepted.

Cuba, Mexico and Chile also raised questions
Apart from Russia, Cuba and Mexico also strongly condemned America’s move. These countries say that use of military force can worsen the situation. Chile also termed the American action as a wrong example and said that it will harm the global system.

Venezuela’s allegation – keeping an eye on oil and resources
Venezuela alleged in the United Nations that America had carried out this attack with the aim of acquiring the country’s natural resources and huge oil reserves. Venezuela called it direct aggression and an attack on sovereignty.

Support of America’s allies
On the other hand, America’s allies like Argentina, Britain and Latvia justified the American action. These countries say that this step was a necessary action against the Maduro government.

Maduro arrested in US attack
The US Army took action early Saturday and arrested President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. Both have been brought to New York, where Maduro is facing trial in drug trafficking cases. However, Maduro has vehemently rejected all the allegations against him.
