Earthquake tremors were felt in Tajikistan on Tuesday (22 April 2025). According to the National Center for Sisamology (NCS), the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 4.1 on the Richter scale. Earlier on Monday, earthquake tremors were felt three times in the same area. Tajikistan is a mountainous country, which is more sensitive to climate hazards. There is a high risk of earthquake, flood, drought, avalanche, landslides in this region.
According to the NCS, the center of the earthquake was 10 km deep from the ground. The region had an earthquake on Saturday (19 April 2025) with a magnitude of 4.2. A 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Afghanistan at 12:17 pm on Saturday afternoon. The National Earthquake Science Center (NCS) confirmed the earthquake on the social media platform X. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 130 km at 36.10 degrees northern latitude and 71.20 degree Eastern longitude.
Last week, a light earthquake of 2.4 magnitude occurred on the Richter scale in Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir.
