Starting the discussion on ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Monday in the Lok Sabha, while Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that more than 100 terrorists, their handlers and trainers were killed in India’s military action, when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi stood up from his seat and asked the question- ‘Then why did you stop the operation?’ After this question of Rahul, opposition MPs also started making noise in the House. But Rajnath Singh said in a restrained tone-‘Let me speak completely, I am ready to answer every question.’
Operation vermilion is not over, postponed: Rajnath
Rajnath Singh made it clear that the operation vermilion was not stopped, but has been postponed. He said, ‘If there is any hand again by Pakistan, then this operation will be resumed. Our aim was not to tease war, but to teach a lesson to those who raise terrorism.
‘Pakistan pleaded for ceasefire’- Rajnath
The Defense Minister claimed that when the Indian Army started targeting Pakistan’s military bases, the neighboring country was completely nervous. The Indian Air Force’s acute aerial action, the army’s counter -attack and the possibility of the Navy attack forced Pakistan to kneel.
He said that on May 10, the DGMO of Pakistan called the Indian DGMO and appealed to stop military action. Then after formal talks on May 12, both countries decided to stop the action.
All goals were met, so stopped operation
Rajnath Singh dismissed the allegations of Rahul Gandhi and the opposition and said that the operation was not stopped under any pressure. India stopped military action because all the strategic goals set were met. He taunted and said, ‘The result matters in the examination, not that the pencil was broken. The result is that during Operation Sindoor we achieved all our military goals.
Rajnath Singh insisted that the Indian Army targeted only those terrorists and those who were involved in attacks on India. The main objective of this operation was to destroy the ‘Terror Nursery’ on the land of Pakistan.
Opposition asked wrong questions, yet I ready to answer
The Defense Minister took a sarcasm at the opposition and said that he repeatedly asks how many aircraft have fallen, but never asked how many enemies of enemies have dropped. He said, ‘If you want to ask the question, then ask- was the operation vermilion successful? The answer is- yes, completely. He said that when the goals are big, getting entangled in small matters can harm the security of the country and the enthusiasm of the soldiers.
Rajnath Singh finally said that he never looked at politics from hostile perspective. ‘Today we are in power, tomorrow can also be in the opposition. When the public handed over the opposition to us, we still played a role responsibly.
