This incident further heats up the India-Pakistan rivalry on social media outside the cricket field, where memes and trolls are more in discussion than the result of the match. This victory of India shows their strong form in the T20 World Cup.

Pakistan blown away by Ishan’s storm

Batting first, India scored 175/7 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan played a stormy innings and scored 77 runs in 40 balls, which changed the course of the match. The start was bad, Abhishek Sharma was out in the first over, but Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav (32 from 27 balls) took over the innings. Pakistan’s spinner Sam Ayub took 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave 25 runs, but India made a good score.

Chasing the target of 176 runs, Pakistan was all out for 114 in 18 overs. Usman Khan scored the highest score of 44 runs, but the rest of the batsmen flopped. Indian bowlers did wonders. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets, Akshar Patel 2, Varun Chakraborty 2 and Hardik Pandya also took 2 wickets. Pakistan never returned to the match and India secured a place in the Super 8. This is India’s consecutive win over Pakistan in ICC tournaments.
