‘There is no doubt that you…’, why did Priyanka Gandhi praise PM Modi during the debate on Vande Mataram in Parliament?

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi also expressed her views on the ongoing discussion in the Lok Sabha on completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram. During the debate he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that there is no doubt that you give very good speeches. The only weakness is that he is weak in matters of facts. There is an art in this too, how to present the facts. I am also maintaining that I am not an artist. I also want to present the facts before the public, only in the form of facts.

Priyanka Gandhi said in her speech, ‘Our national anthem is a symbol of that feeling, it awakened the Indians sleeping in slavery. When we take the name of Vande Mataram, we remember the entire history which was the history of the freedom struggle. Vande Mataram is an expression of modern nationalism which united the people of India with political aspirations. Today’s debate seems a bit strange, this song has become a part of the soul of the country.

Why is this debate necessary?

The Congress General Secretary said, ‘Our country has been independent for 75 years, so what is the need for this debate. Now at this juncture we will also debate our national anthem in this House. You were not agreeing to the debate on electoral reform. This is our national anthem.. Why are we debating on it, firstly the Bengal elections and secondly the people of the country want to divert from the burning issues.

‘Modi ji is no longer the PM he once was’

He said, ‘This government does not want to see the present and the future, today Modi ji is no longer the PM he once was, his confidence has started decreasing. The ruling party’s colleagues are silent because deep inside they also agree with this. Today the people of the country are not happy, they are worried and you are not finding a solution to it. Their people have also started saying in hushed tones that centralization of power is causing harm to the country. Meanwhile, what will we do if we do not talk about the past? Their job is to divert attention. There cannot be debate on this. When communal politics emerged in our country in the 1930s, this song started becoming controversial.

No matter how many elections we lose, we will keep fighting here: Priyanka

Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘No matter how many elections we lose, we will keep fighting here, for this country. Gurudev Ji says that the two Antares that were sung had such a deep meaning that there is no difficulty in separating them from those that were sung during the freedom struggle. Tagore ji played a role in choosing the national song and excerpts from the national anthem. Have the ruling party colleagues become so arrogant that they have started considering Gandhi bigger than Subhash ji? Modi ji’s statement that the national anthem was cut due to divisive thinking is an insult to him, Nehru ji has been in jail for almost the same number of years as he has been the PM of this country.
