Krishna Beura is the same singer whose voice you might have heard in songs like ‘Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar’, ‘Maula Mere Le Le Meri Jaan’ and ‘Aap Ki Kashish’. When these songs came, they were popular everywhere and even today people listen to them with great interest. Not only this, Krishna Beura has also sung many other good songs and has won the hearts of people with his different voice. But today perhaps very few people would recognize him. Recently, he openly expressed his views about the way Bollywood works and the fees of singers.

Krishna Beura told the truth of Bollywood industry
Recently Krishna Beura talked about the Bollywood industry and told how he was given very low fees for his iconic songs. In Hindi Rush podcast, the singer said, ‘There is no fixed fee structure for singers in Bollywood. I say that singers should get at least fees. Meaning, if you call a singer and make him sit in the studio for hours, then give him at least Rs 10,000. But sometimes singers do not even get Rs 10,000.

He said, ‘I got only Rs 10,000 for singing Aap Ki Kashish. TDS of Rs 900 was deducted in that also. Yash Raj Films gave me Rs 10,000 for the song Maula Mere Le Le Meri Jaan from the film Chak De India. I did not get any money for the song O Soniyon from the film Raaz 2. Even for songs like Moko Kaha Dhundhe Re Bande and Mera Intekaam Dekhi, I got Rs 0.

Krishna Beura further said, ‘In my 23 years of career as a singer in the film industry, if I see earnings only from playback singing, it would be amazing if I have a total of Rs 1.5 lakh. Private producers give money, but the industry people do not because they believe that the singers will earn from shows and concerts. You cannot ask for money, because if you ask, you will not get work next time. Now this does not happen, some good people have come into the industry. Now just look at Akshay Kumar’s Rs 1,000. Do you have the courage to do this?’

Krishna Beura speaks about the treatment of singers
During this time, the singer also made a big claim about A-list singers. He said that many singers also charge Rs 3-3 crore for a song. Krishna Beura said, ‘Only A-list singers earn money. Because the composer thinks that if a big name singer sings the song then the music can be easily sold to the company.

‘I can’t say anything about their charges, because everyone has their own rate. Some take Rs 5 lakh, some Rs 10 lakh, some Rs 50 lakh and some even ask for Rs 3 crore for a song. Everything depends on demand. As soon as your demand increases in the industry, you will get whatever you ask for. Royalty does not reach the singers. In the end the singers don’t get anything. Live shows are the only way to earn for singers.
