Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is going to hold the first agriculture cabinet meeting of the state in Nagalwadi of Barwani district. This meeting will be held on Monday (2 March). It is being organized under the ‘Farmers Welfare Year 2026’, through which the government is preparing to reach out directly to the farmers and take major and grassroots decisions.
Nagalwadi has been selected keeping in mind the religious and cultural importance of the historical Bhilat Dev temple located here. The government is presenting this event as a confluence of faith and agricultural development.
Preparation for big decisions for farmers
In this agriculture cabinet, expansion of irrigation facilities for Nimar and seven surrounding districts, availability of improved seeds and measures to increase the income of farmers will be discussed in detail. It is also possible to consider a plan to send livestock farmers to Brazil for modern training. Also, a new policy can be brought to promote spice crops.
Apart from this, emphasis will also be laid on technical reforms in this meeting. Digital decisions like linking farmers’ accounts with Samagra ID and providing agriculture related information through mobile can be approved.
Food processing unit expected to be set up in Nagalwadi
Nagalwadi area is known for tomato production. Tomatoes from here are supplied to India and abroad. Local farmers are hopeful that a tomato ketchup plant or food processing unit may be announced in this agriculture cabinet. If this happens, farmers will get better prices and new employment opportunities will also be created in the area.
Special preparations for agriculture cabinet meeting
Three different pandals have been made for the meeting. An exhibition of farming and tribal culture will be organized in the first pandal. The second pandal has been developed as a green house. The main cabinet meeting will be held in the third pandal. A separate media house has been created for the media, from where official information about the decisions will be shared.
