On June 23, former panchayat president Lokesh was reported to have died after consuming poison in MK Doddy village of Bengaluru South district. Lokesh’s body was found near the Kanwa dam near his car and a vial of poison was lying nearby. Initially, this case seemed to be a suicide. The police also registered a case of ‘Annatural Death’ and sent the body for postmortem.

The very next day, the deceased’s wife Chandralekha, who is a panchayat member of Makali village, reiterated the husband’s suicide by holding a press conference. He shed tears in front of the camera and told that Lokesh was in debt and came under stress and ate poison.

Police found these things missing on the spot

The police found some things suspicious from the beginning. The lid of poison bottle was not found on the spot and Lokesh had slippers in one leg. These small, but important things were forcing the police to think. The post -mortem report surely confirmed the death from poison, but it was also revealed that some amount of poison was stuck in Lokesh’s chest, which could only happen when someone was forced to drink poison.

When the police searched the CCTV footage of the area, there was a big disclosure. Lokesh was chasing him until shortly before the death of Lokesh. Mobile tower data revealed that at the time of the incident, the mobile of a young man Yogesh was also active in the same area. Investigation revealed that Yogesh was in contact with Chandralekha for the last two months and both also met each other.

Truth came out in police interrogation

When Yogesh, who works in the post office of Bangalore, was detained and interrogated, the entire murder plan was revealed. He told the police that at the behest of Chandralekha, he had given a criminal gang a contract to kill Lokesh.

On June 23, when Lokesh came out of the work of his chicken shop, accused Shivalinga, Surya and Chandan chased him in a black car. In the deserted area of Kanwa Dam, he stopped Lokesh and forced him to drink poison and then parked his car on the side of the road and left the body there, so that the whole incident looked like suicide.

Wife was the mastermind of the whole game

After a thorough investigation of about three weeks, the police exposed the conspiracy to murder and arrested the three accused who killed the mastermind wife Chandralekha, her lover Yogesh and betel nut.
