There was smoke in Pakistan, violent demonstrations on the streets of Islamabad, internet shut down in many cities.


In many cities of Pakistan including Lahore and Islamabad, people are taking to the streets and protesting against the Shahbaz government. To keep the capital of Pakistan safe, internet has been shut down in many cities and lockdown has been imposed. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is protesting against the policies of Israel and America.

Violent demonstrations on the streets of Pakistan

TLP workers are moving towards Islamabad in large numbers on the streets. The situation has still not returned to normal in Lahore. A TLP worker and a policeman have died in this violent protest. TLP workers also pelted stones at the police. Police used water cannon and hand grenade to control the situation.

Why is the protest happening?

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) had announced a protest against Israel outside the US Embassy in Islamabad on Friday (October 10, 2025). After this, the police of Pakistan’s Punjab province raided the TLP headquarters to arrest its chief Saad Hussain Rizvi. The TLP claimed that one of its workers was killed and 20 were injured in the clashes with the police.

Internet service shut down indefinitely

The Shahbaz government has sealed the roads leading to the capital and imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi. The government ordered to shut down mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi indefinitely.

Recently Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif visited America. He supported the 20-point Gaza peace agreement presented by Trump. However, later Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar withdrew from this agreement. He said that the peace plan agreement that was handed over to Trump with Arab countries was different.
