US Iran conflict: Amidst the ongoing war in the Middle East, America has clearly indicated for the first time that its military campaign against Iran will not last long. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that this operation can be completed in “weeks, not months” and there will be no need to deploy ground troops for it.

After the meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries in France, Rubio said that America can achieve its set goals before or around the time. However, he also acknowledged that some American troops are being deployed in the area, so that options remain open if needed.

Deployment of marines and airborne troops begins

The US Secretary of State may have ruled out a ground war, but the Pentagon has started sending thousands of marines and airborne troops to the Middle East. According to the information, the first group of soldiers is going to arrive by the end of this March through a big amphibious ship. This has increased the fear that if the situation worsens, the war may spread to the ground level.

Trump’s ultimatum, 10 day deadline

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is also indicating to end this war soon. He has given a new deadline of 10 days to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. Also warned that if this does not happen, the energy infrastructure can be attacked. The Trump administration has also sent a 15-point proposal to Iran through Pakistan, which includes conditions like stopping uranium enrichment and limiting the missile program.

Iran refused to negotiate

However, Tehran has so far rejected these proposals. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that talks amid attacks are unacceptable and Iran will respond heavily. The scope of this war is continuously increasing. So far, more than 1900 people have died in Iran and more than 20 thousand people have been injured. More than 300 American soldiers have been injured and 13 have died.
