During the winter session of Parliament, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has given a big statement on the Indigo crisis in the Rajya Sabha on Monday (December 8, 2025). Naidu has clarified in the Rajya Sabha that the recent flight cancellations and delays were the result of internal problems of the airline. He said that the Central Government will not compromise on the safety of passengers, pilots and crew. This message has been given strictly to all airlines.
The Union Minister said that Indigo Airline should have handled its crew management and roster properly in the beginning, but due to its internal complexities it created large-scale problems in the country. He clarified in the Rajya Sabha that the Central Government is not taking this situation lightly and full responsibility will be fixed for all the passengers who have faced problems.
Civil Aviation Minister’s strong message in Rajya Sabha
Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu gave a strong message in the Rajya Sabha saying that strict action will be taken against any airline company violating the rules. He said that such an example will be set which all other airlines will take seriously.
He also said that more airlines should come into the Indian market, there is huge potential in the country. It is mandatory for all airlines to follow the strict rules (CARs) made for the passengers who faced difficulties due to flight cancellations and delays.
Investigation shows 5 lakh PNRs were cancelled: Ram Mohan Naidu
The Union Minister also informed that investigation has been started into the issues of software and technical glitches in IndiGo airline. Investigation has shown that 5,00,000 PNRs have been cancelled, which is sad and ultimately the aim of the Central Government is to bring India’s aviation sector to the highest safety and service standards in the world.
