Many students dream of taking admission in the famous Anna University across the country, but do you know which students get special reservation here. If not then today we are going to tell you.

Every year, there is a big question in the minds of students regarding admission in Anna University that which students get reservation and which get easy admission. The university has issued clear rules based on the community reservation policy of the Tamil Nadu government, which states which students are eligible for reservation.

First of all, it is necessary that the candidate should be an Indian citizen and a native of Tamil Nadu. At the same time, only the native students of the state will get the benefit of community reservation. The university has implemented reservation under seven categories -OC, BC, BCM, MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST.

Which certificate is required?

To avail the benefits of reservation, students are required to submit their community certificate at the time of application. Only Permanent Community Card or digitally signed e-certificate will be accepted, while certificates in ordinary paper form will not be valid. Also, the certificate should have been issued by the competent authority of the same district to which the student belongs.

No reservation for students from other states

The university has also made it clear that students from other states will not get any kind of community reservation. All such students will be considered in open category i.e. OC. Apart from this, if any community belongs to a particular district, then the certificate should also be issued from that district. Community certificate issued from the wrong district will not be considered valid and such students will be shifted to OC.

However, there is an exemption if a student is from BC, MBC or DNC community and has shifted to a new district along with the family after 28 October 2009, then the certificate issued from the new district will be accepted.
