Pakistan has decided to boycott the T20 World Cup match against India to be held on February 15. ICC has also warned Pakistan regarding this. Meanwhile, former BCCI President and BJP MP Anurag Thakur has targeted Pakistan.
Talking to a TV channel, Anurag Thakur said that Pakistan has decided to withdraw from the match because it is afraid of losing to India on the field once again. Pakistan on Sunday announced its decision to boycott the ICC T20 World Cup group league match against India, but the government has approved the national team’s participation in the remaining matches of the tournament starting on February 7.
According to an official statement of the Pakistani government, this decision is being considered as a political protest related to the exclusion of Bangladesh from the tournament. Let us tell you that due to security reasons, Bangladesh’s request to shift the match from India to Sri Lanka was rejected.
What did PCB say earlier
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier said that it would review its participation in the tournament after this decision, as it was showing solidarity with Bangladesh. The Pakistani government, in a statement issued on its social media account, said that it has given permission to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the tournament, but the team will not take the field in the match against India in Colombo on February 15.

Pakistan will start its campaign against Netherlands on 7 February, followed by America on 10 February and Namibia on 18 February. All the matches of Pakistan will be played at SSC ground in Colombo. A source close to the PCB told news agency PTI that Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will soon give more information to the media.
