Deutsche bank: One of the largest banks in Germany, Deutsche Bank is considering selling its retail business in India. According to a report by news agency Reuters, Deutash Bank has invited domestic and foreign banks to bid to sell its retail banking assets. The report said that Deutch Bank has fixed the deadline for bidding from banks on 29 August. Till now, which banks have been bid have not been disclosed.
Earlier there was an attempt to sell retail business
Dutash Bank is currently exploring the possibilities of fully covering its retail business in India. It currently has 17 branches in the country. Earlier this year, the bank also made plans to make its retail business more profitable. In March, the bank’s CEO Christian Civing said that the bank would cut around 2,000 jobs to reduce the cost in its branches.
Earlier, in the year 2017, Dutash Bank tried to sell its retail and wealth management business in India, but this plan was later postponed. Deutush Bank has not given any information about the valuation of its retail business in India. In the business year 2025, the bank’s revenue from retail business stood at $ 278.3 million.
