This Bollywood star could not earn a name like his brother, alcohol spoiled his career

As soon as the name of Bollywood’s biggest film family i.e. Kapoor family comes up, the face of Prithviraj Kapoor and then Raj Kapoor comes to the fore. Randhir Kapoor is also one of those who carried forward this legacy. Today i.e. on 15th February, Randhir Kapoor is celebrating his birthday. Randhir, who once won hearts as a romantic hero, had both fame and decline in his life. His journey was full of ups and downs.

Legacy of Kapoor family and beginning of Randhir
This film journey, which started with Prithviraj Kapoor, reached Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. Raj Kapoor has been called the ‘Greatest Showman’ of Indian cinema. They had five children, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Reema Jain. All three sons entered films but only Rishi Kapoor has been able to make a big mark in the industry. Randhir and Rajeev could not reach that point.

Many hit films, but could not become a superstar
Randhir Kapoor has worked in many films like ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’, ‘Jawaani Deewani’, ‘Rampur Ka Laxman’, ‘Chacha Bhatija’, ‘Biwi-O-Biwi’, ‘Hath Ki Safai’. The list of his films is long and many movies have also been hits. But after a while people felt that he was playing almost the same role in every film. His image of a romantic and foodie boy did not change much due to which people’s excitement started decreasing.

Flop films and distance from acting
Randhir’s career slowed down after the poor performance at the box office of films like ‘Rickshawala’, ‘Dharam Karam’, ‘Pukar’, ‘Khazana’. After consecutive flops, he took a break of about ten years. After this, he left acting and tried his hand in direction and production, but even there he could not achieve success like his father or brother.

Alcohol addiction and separation from Babita
Let us tell you that Randhir Kapoor married actress Babita on 6 November 1971. Both of them had a love marriage and had two daughters. Karisma Kapoor in 1974 and Kareena Kapoor in 1980. But according to reports, Randhir’s drinking habit caused great harm to their relationship. In 1988, Babita started living separately with her daughters. Although both were legally married. After about 19 years, in 2007, they forgot their differences and resumed their relationship. In 2023, Babita has started living in Randhir’s house again.
