This city of UP may get a big jackpot, Taiwanese company is preparing to build a technology park

Uttar Pradesh is going to get another big project. It is being told that Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA) plans to build a big technology park in India. For this, talks are going on with many states. Of these, positive results are coming regarding Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida).

In fact, Young Liu, Chairman of Taiwan’s contract manufacturing company Foxconn, is also the Chairman of Teema and he is taking this initiative forward. In the first phase, the company wants to create similar technology parks in America, India, Mexico and Poland.

According to the report, this tech park can be built near Foxconn’s upcoming OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility in Yeida area. This is because the layout of the Teema plan has been designed to be built right next to the Foxconn campus. The company’s objective is to create advanced smart manufacturing hubs in many important parts of the world and expand the scope of Taiwan’s successful technology parks.

What is the company’s plan?

The team’s project of setting up a technology park is being planned on the basis of an AI-integrated, ESG-focused global manufacturing network. This work is being taken forward by Foxconn’s former India head Wei Lee. Its purpose is to increase competitiveness among Taiwanese companies and expand the electronics supply chain here at the global level. Apart from Foxconn, Taiwanese engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company CTCI is also cooperating in this work. However, no official confirmation has been made yet by the company in this regard.

What is YEIDA?

YEIDA is a nodal agency established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, whose work is to develop industrial areas along the Yamuna Expressway. It extends from Greater Noida to Agra.

Why YEIDA?

An ET report in April had informed that Foxconn was looking for its first facility in North India on about 300 acres of land near Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. HCL-Foxconn has purchased land for an outsourced OSAT facility in the same area.

Yeda is being given priority because this area is emerging rapidly due to better connectivity after Jewar Airport and the planned Yeda City being built along the Yamuna Expressway. Along with airports and smart cities, work is going on on many big infrastructure projects like green energy projects in this region, which makes it strategically important.
