In the UK, the government has planned to prepare the AI-Powered Crime Prediction System. It will be a detailed, real time and interactive crime map, which will cover England and Wales. Officials say that this system will be able to tell where crime can happen. This will help the authorities reach there through advanced data analysis and interactive mapping, where a small issue can become a serious matter.
What will be the work of AI in this?
According to reports, this map will depend on AI to take data from different sources including police records, social service and local council. This will already be able to warn where attacks, quarrels, theft or other anti-social works can be done keeping in mind the location of old cases, the behavior pattern of people committing frequent crimes and other factor.
There is such a system in America too
UK will not be the first country to help AI to stop crime. Such systems have also been launched in Los Angeles and Chicago in America. However, these systems could not succeed here and they have also been accused of racial bias. Due to this, they were closed after some time. On the other hand, the Crime Ancception System of the Netherlands has got good success and with the help of this, there has been a decrease in robbery cases.
