The cricketer’s troubles may increase, because according to the report, looking at the evidence given by the woman, these allegations seem to be true at first sight. The friendship between the cricketer and the woman started on Facebook, which gradually deepened.
According to a report published on Cricbuzz, Investigating Officer of Gulshan Police Station, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Samiul Islam confirmed on Thursday (December 11), “The charge sheet has been filed under Section 9(1) of the Prevention of Women and Child Harassment Act.”
According to the report, looking at the documents given, the allegations prima facie appear to be true. It contains hotel booking records, medical examination and other evidence. The report quoted sources as saying that the next hearing in this case will be held on December 30, when the charge sheet will be presented before the court.
Allegation of rape on the pretext of marriage
According to the report, it has been said in the case papers that Tofel had contacted the woman for the first time on Facebook in January this year. After this, both of them started talking continuously on messenger. The matter went beyond friendship.
The complaint said that the woman had initially refused, but later agreed after Tofel assured her that he wanted to marry her. According to the complainant, on January 31, Tofail allegedly took the woman to a hotel in Gulshan, calling her his wife there. They allegedly had sex without consent. The cricketer again assured that he would marry her soon.

The complaint states that the cricketer later assaulted the woman several times, but when the woman insisted on marriage, she refused. The woman lodged a case at Gulshan police station on August 1, reporting repeated incidents of sexual violence.
According to Cricbuzz report, on September 24, the High Court granted six weeks’ anticipatory bail to Tofail and directed him to surrender before the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal before the expiry of the bail. However, he did not follow the court’s instructions.
