6 old Boeing-767 will be converted into tanker aircraft
According to the report of NDTV, there is a possibility of a deal between India and Israel for 6 mid air refueler aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Israel will partner with India’s Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) in this big defense deal. In this, 6 old Boeing-767 passenger planes will be converted into military refueling planes for the Indian Air Force. The value of this deal is said to be around Rs 8 thousand crores.
Let us tell you, the Indian Air Force was lacking tanker jets for a long time, to fulfill it, it had to depend on leased aircraft as backup. According to the report, negotiations are going on on this deal, which is likely to be completed in the year 2026.
This deal is important for India
If this deal is finalized between the two countries then it will be very important for India. At present the Indian Air Force is dependent on 6 old Russian IL-78 tanker aircraft; new tanker aircraft have not been procured in the last two decades.
PM Modi leaves for Israel
Prime Minister Narendra Modi left from New Delhi today (25 February) morning on his two-day visit to Israel. During the visit, PM Modi will have discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. PM Modi will also address the Israeli Parliament (Knesset). He will become the first Indian Prime Minister to deliver a speech in the Israeli Parliament. Apart from this he will interact with the Indian expatriate community.
Before leaving for Israel, the Prime Minister said, ‘India and Israel have a strong and strategic partnership. He is visiting Israel on the invitation of his friend Prime Minister Netanyahu. The Prime Minister said he looks forward to the discussions aimed at further strengthening our cooperation in various fields including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense and security, trade and investment.
