An Indian YouTube channel has earned more than Rs 38 crore in a year only with the help of AI generated content. A global study conducted on YouTube channels that post AI generated content revealed that the Indian channel ‘Bandar Apna Dost’ was the most watched worldwide. In its study, video editing platform Capwing had analyzed the world’s 15,000 most popular YouTube channels to see the scale and impact of AI-made videos, in which ‘Bandar Apna Dost’ emerged as the biggest channel.
Indian channel is at the forefront
According to a study by Capwing, this channel has received 2.07 billion views and has more than 2.76 million subscribers. If we talk about earnings, this channel is earning around Rs 38 crore every year. This channel uploads short video clips with monkey characters. The success of this channel shows how videos made entirely with AI can reach the whole world at low cost.
AI video also ahead in recommendation
If we talk about recommendations, YouTube also recommends videos made with AI a lot. According to the study, 20 percent of the videos recommended to new users fall in the AI slope category. AI slope is those videos which are completely created by AI and there is no or little human creativity in them. In the case of shorts, the dominance of AI video is even stronger. AI slope videos account for 33 percent of the first 500 shorts shown to a new user. This shows that YouTube’s algorithm is favoring such content, which people keep watching continuously, even if its quality is not strong.
