The Government of Kerala has made Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has been invited as the chief guest. The BJP has strongly opposed this decision and described it as “insult” and “hypocrisy” of Hindu faith.
BJP’s charge and warning
Kerala BJP President Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that if Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan did not apologize to Hindus and Ayyappa devotees, the party would oppose their joining. He alleged that earlier Vijayan had taken police action against the devotees in Sabarimala. He said, “Indie alliance parties like Congress, CPI (M) and DMK joining the Sabarimala program are as false as Hitler honoring Jews, speaking the truth of Rahul Gandhi or becoming a messenger of peace by Osama bin Laden.”
BJP leaders react strongly
BJP leader Tamilisai Saundararajan said that this is the “biggest hypocrisy” as Stalin rejected the call of Hindu organizations in Tamil Nadu but is going to the program in Kerala. BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan said that accepting Stalin’s invitation is “the culmination of hypocrisy”. He reminded that Stalin had not condemned his son and minister Udayanidhi Stalin’s remarks in which he compared Sanatan Dharma to diseases like dengue and malaria.
Government of Kerala and Devi Board rescue
Kerala Devaswam Minister VN Vasavan said that Global Ayyappa Sangam is organized by the State Government and Travancore Devaswam Board and for the first time Ayyappa devotees from all over the world will join it. He informed that it will include ministers of Karnataka, Telangana, Union Minister of Kerala, opposition leaders and thousands of devotees.
He said that this program will be fully according to traditions and rituals and 3,000 representatives will be involved in it. Arrangements will be made for housing, medical facilities and special transport for devotees. Also, the government is implementing a master plan of Rs 1,300 crore for Sabarimala development, which includes the airport and railway line plan, which is expected to be completed by 2028.
Kerala Education Minister reversed
Kerala Education Minister V Shivnakutty reacted sharply to the BJP’s threat. He said, “Rajiv Chandrashekhar is dreaming. To say that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state will be stopped, only the support of the Center is proud. This will never happen in Kerala.”
DMK side
DMK Organization Secretary TKS Ilngovan also supported Stalin. He said, “If he has been called, he will go. What is wrong with this? It is not a program of historical importance but a program of historical importance.” He described the BJP as a “gang of thugs” which shows his character on every issue.
