The National President of the Indian Youth Congress has been arrested after his shirtless demonstration at the AI Summit held in Delhi. Delhi Police arrested him and presented him in Patiala House Court. The police has sought his 7-day remand from the court.
Meanwhile, his father Hari Singh has reacted to the arrest. He has said that this is murder of democracy. He said that he and every person have the right to express their opinion. He said that our farmers, industries, textile sector and youth will be harmed by the India-America trade deal.
What did father say on Uday Bhanu’s arrest?
Youth Congress Chief’s father Hari Singh said on this matter that I do not think Uday has done anything wrong in this. I am proud of my son. He is fighting for the youth and farmers of the country. He further said that I pray to God to give him courage.
He further said that the youth of the country should give Uday the courage to continue this fight. He has termed this arrest as a conspiracy. He further said that there is a conspiracy to implicate him in this case. But I am sure he cannot silence Uday Bhanu.
Police got remand
Delhi Police arrested the organization’s president Uday Bhanu Chib in connection with the shirtless protest by a group of Indian Youth Congress members at the AI Impact Summit in Delhi. In view of the possibility of protests after Chib’s arrest, the police have increased security at major places in the capital.
Patiala House Court has rejected the demand of 7 days remand sought by the police and has given remand of 4 days. It is being told that the police can interrogate Uday Bhanu Chib in front of the accused.
