Politics in the country is in full swing since Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation from the post of Vice President. Meanwhile, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Sunday (27 July 2025) that this is a matter between his (Dhankar) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the former President was always in favor of the government.
Kharge accused Dhankar of taking favor of the government
Congress President Kharge asked if Dhankhar was forced to resign to speak in favor of farmers? He alleged that during his tenure as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Dhankhar continuously took the government’s side and did not give the opposition a chance to raise major issues.

Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as Vice President, citing health reasons on the evening of 21 July, which intensified speculation in political circles. In his resignation sent to President Draupadi Murmu, Dhankhar said that he is leaving the post with immediate effect to give priority to health care.
In response to a question about changing the President of the Karnataka unit of the Congress, Kharge said, “All these things cannot be said now … will speak later.” Currently Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar is holding the post of President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) for the expanded tenure. The voice of changing them within the ruling Congress in the state is raising the sound of two major positions.
