Ayush Mhatre will be the captain on the Indian Under-19 team touring Australia starting on September 21. India will play three ODIs and two four-day matches against the Australian Under-19 team.
Stylish top -order batsman Mhatre was one of the best players who performed well in England. He scored 340 runs in four innings of young Test matches, including two centuries and a half -century.
Vihaan Malhotra, who performed impressively in both formats in England, has been made the vice-captain. He scored 243 in young ODIs and 277 runs in Tests after that.
The team also includes 14 -year -old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who caught everyone’s attention on the tour of England. He scored 355 runs in the five -match ODI series, including the fastest century in young ODI history.
The selectors have chosen a balanced team, with aggressive batting options as well as a mixture of a versatile bowling unit. Wicketkeepers Abhiyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh provide depth in the middle order, while bowlers like Kishan Kumar, Anmoljit Singh and D. Deepesh are expected to benefit from Australian circumstances at high speed.
