Where and why did the wedding venue change?
Jeff Bezos and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez were earlier preparing for the wedding in the Cannaregio area of Venice. But when demonstrations started regarding the event. Locals said the city had become a playground for billionaires and real Venetians were moving out, so the wedding venue had to be changed. Now the ceremony took place in the Arsenale in the East Castello district of Venice. This area is surrounded by water on all sides and can be reached only by boat or helicopter.

The budget of this wedding itself became a big shock for the world. According to reports, 48–56 million euros, i.e. approximately Rs 5,000 crore, were spent on this grand wedding. That is why many people are calling it the most expensive wedding of the century. The wedding lasted for three days and every day in itself was no less than a film set.
Special arrangements for guests
In a city like Venice, where there are no roads and only water, it is not easy to welcome VVIP guests, hence from the very first day, 92 private jets were seen landing at Venice Airport. Around 30 water taxis were arranged to take the guests from the city’s canals to the wedding venue. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were among the first to arrive. The five most expensive hotels of Venice were booked for the stars and business leaders from all over the world who came for the wedding. Aman Venice, Gritti Palace, St. Regis, Belmond Cipriani and Hotel Danieli. Around 200–250 high-profile guests were invited for this wedding. The guest list was so dazzling that it looked no less than a film award show. These included Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Diane von Furstenberg, Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady and many other famous faces.
