Balmukund Acharya, BJP MLA from Hawamahal seat in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has taken a tough stance in the matter related to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand. He has demanded strict action against the guilty officials. Balmukund Acharya said that whoever has diminished the honor and respect of Shankaracharya should be given strict punishment and the entire matter should be investigated impartially.
Swami Balmukund Acharya said that insulting religious gurus cannot be accepted at all. Respect for revered saints like Shankaracharya is paramount and every section of the society should respect the dignity of their position. He said that he himself is grateful to Shankaracharya and remains humble. There should be no laxity in such matters.
Demand for fair investigation
The MLA bluntly said that whoever is found guilty must be punished. He stressed that the investigation should be completely impartial and responsibility should be fixed at any level.
He says that if a decision ensures the safety of crores of devotees, then it is not wrong, but insulting Shankaracharya in its name also cannot be justified.
Opposition accused of politics
Swami Balmukund Acharya accused the opposition parties Samajwadi Party and Congress of politicizing the issue. He said that the opposition is spreading false propaganda. He believes that religion should be followed in politics, but politics should not enter religion.
Defense of Yogi government
The MLA, while defending the Yogi Adityanath government, said that the arrangements in Magh Mela are excellent. Despite this, if any incident has happened, it is unfortunate and should be investigated. He said that it is not right to question the intentions of the government, but it is necessary to fix the accountability of the officials.
Apart from being the BJP MLA from Hawa Mahal seat, Swami Balmukund Acharya is also the state president of All India Sant Samiti. He said that after UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, he is also openly demanding action against the guilty officers in this case. He reiterated that it is necessary to protect the government, but it is equally important to give full respect to Shankaracharya.
