Big news has come out about the Tihar jail in the capital Delhi in the country. CM Rekha Gupta of Delhi has decided to shift Tihar Jail on the outskirts of Delhi. A budget of Rs 10 crore has also been allocated for this. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of residential areas.

Let me tell you, many rules are prescribed for the convicted prisoners in the jail, in which they have to work in jail and instead the prisoners are paid. Inmates’ accounts are opened in jail and their earnings from work are deposited in it. However, some money is also given to the prisoners for expenses in the jail canteen. They are given coupons in lieu of money, so that they can buy goods they need. In such a situation, do you know how the wages of the prisoners are determined, are the prisoners in all jails uniform remuneration, or there is a difference according to the state? Let’s know …

How do prisoners get salary

All the prisoners in jail are given different types of work. This work is part of their punishment. The work is determined by the capacity of the prisoner or voluntarily. The salaries for prisoners are also determined according to different classes, including skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled prisoners. Their remuneration is different, the rate of which is revised from time to time.

What is different remuneration

The state government decides the remuneration of the prisoners. In such a situation, it can vary in every state. In some jails, such things of prisoners are made, which are later sold in the market. These include furniture, toys, decoration items. This earns prisoners well. At the same time, prisoners get separate wages for the works of other jails. According to media reports, in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, 171 are paid to skilled prisoners, 138 of semi -skilled prisoners and Rs 107 per day to unskilled prisoners. Similarly, in Bihar it was Rs 156, Rs 112 and Rs 103. It was 150 and 130 rupees in Rajasthan. Similarly, in Puducherry, wages of Rs 180, 160 and 150 rupees have been fixed.
