RAC ticket means that you have not got the entire berth, but one seat has to be shared between two passengers. In such a situation, after making the chart, you can check the status through your PNR number. Put PNR in ‘Check PNR Status’ option on IRCTC website.

If your ticket is confirmed by RAC, then TTE will give you information about the new berth. If the ticket is still RAC, then on the basis of TTE availability, you will try to allocate the entire berth.

Apart from this, you will see a feature named Chart/Vacancy on the official website of IRCTC or on the app. Through this feature, you can get confirmed tickets in the moving train even after the chart is ready.
