From America to Russia, China and India are busy using their military might. Many countries in the world have such dangerous tanks, which are equipped with advanced technology.
1. America’s M1A2 Abrams tank
According to the report of defense website 19fortyfive, America’s M1A2 Abrams is at number one among the most dangerous tanks in the world. This most dangerous tank of the US Army is equipped with General Dynamics Land Systems. It is capable of firing such types of shells, due to which it can easily target armored vehicles, infantry and low-flying airplanes.
Australia and Poland have ordered this tank to strengthen their armies. It has been designed keeping in mind the threat of anti-tank missiles and drones. It has SEPv3 armor, which is made in Israel. It protects from the threat of anti-tank missiles in a 360 degree radius.
2. Germany’s Leopard 2A7 tank
This tank of Germany is one of the main weapons of their army, which is reliable all over the world. MTU 1500 HP engine has been used in it. This tank is equipped with features like powerful L/55A1 cannon, advanced firepower, new sensors, electronics. The maximum speed of the tank is 70 km/hour. It is fitted with Rh-120 L/44 120 mm or Rh-120 L/55 120 mm Rhinemetal gun.
Its latest version was included in the German Air Force in the year 2021, which weighs about 66.5 tons and uses MTU 1500 HP engine. Its lower part has been specially designed for protection from landmines. It is fitted with an advanced gun barrel for ammunition, third generation FLIR for TC and GNR, BMS (Battlefield Management System), belly and lower glacis armour, and APS.
3. South Korean K-2 Black Panther Tank
This tank with modern technology and high speed provides amazing strength to the South Korean army. It is also considered one of the most advanced tanks in Asia. This tank can fire 10 to 15 rounds per minute. Poland is planning to expand its army and the K2 tank is seen as the new backbone of Polish tank forces. The K2 tank is armed with a 120 mm smoothbore cannon, a 12.7 mm (.50 calibre) heavy machine gun and a 7.62 mm NATO-standard secondary machine gun. The armor of these tanks is made of steel and silicon carbide ceramic plates.
It is 36 feet long, weighs 55 tons (121,254 pounds) and is operated by a three-man crew – a commander, a gunner and a driver. The K2 tank is equipped with a 1,500 horsepower engine and six-speed transmission, capable of reaching a top speed of 43 mph and a range of 280 miles. It is one of the most advanced Main Battle Tanks (MBT) in the world as well as the most expensive, costing approximately $8.5 million per unit.
4. Israeli Merkava Mark IV Tank
This tank was inducted into the Israeli Army in 2004. It is considered one of the best protected tanks in the world. The MARK-4 tank is fitted with a 120 mm smoothbore gun, which can fire HEAT and sabot rounds as well as LAHAT anti-tank guided missiles. Its front-mounted engine provides powerful protection for the crew. There are two 7.62 mm machine guns mounted on the tank roof, one for the commander and one for the loader, with a third machine gun mounted parallel to the main gun. It is also equipped with a 60 mm mortar to suppress anti-tank teams of infantry hidden in trenches. Clamshell doors on the rear of the tank open to allow a small infantry contingent, which proved useful for the IDF in battles such as Gaza and Lebanon.
5. Russia’s T-14 Armata tank
One of the most dangerous weapons in the world, this Russian tank delivers tremendous damage. This tank is equipped with a 125 mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun, which makes it very powerful. The automatic shell loading system installed in it gives it the ability to attack continuously. This tank is fitted with an A-85-3A turbocharged diesel engine, with the help of which it runs at a speed of 90 km/hour.
Russia has offered T-14 Armata tank to India. Russia not only proposed the supply of this tank, but also offered technology transfer and production in India. This tank is capable of carrying out unmanned operations. It has a 1500 HP engine, which is effective in both high altitude areas and desert. It is equipped with digital battle management system and network-centric warfare capability. Its crew capsule is surrounded by armor to protect the soldiers. Russia claims that this tank has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the future battlefield.
