US President Donald Trump has made a big announcement regarding the tariff imposed on India. America has reduced the tariff to 18 percent. Congress’s reaction has come after this announcement by America. The opposition has targeted the Modi government regarding this.
Congress posted on social media platform X on Tuesday (February 3) saying that like the ceasefire, the trade deal was also announced by Trump. It was told that the trade deal is being done on ‘Modi’s request’. The post further said that Trump says that India will reduce the tariff and non-tariff barrier on America to 0 percent.
Congress raised questions
Congress targeted the Modi government regarding this and said that it means you have opened the entire market for America. This will cause huge loss to the Indian industry and you have abandoned the support of the businessmen, farmers and everyone here.
After Trump’s statement, the Congress asked the Modi government that there is talk of opening the agriculture sector to America, what is the deal? Have the interests of our farmers been taken care of or have they been abandoned? How will the safety of our farmers be ensured?
What happened to ‘Make in India’ – Congress
Apart from this, the government was also questioned on Trump’s statement that Modi will not buy oil from Russia, but will buy oil from America and Venezuela. Has Modi government agreed to leave Russia’s side in the trade deal? Apart from this, it has also been said to buy more goods from America. If so, what happened to ‘Make in India’?
Congress said that the country has the right to know what points were discussed in the trade deal and what was decided. Modi government should share all the information regarding this with the country and Parliament.
