Due to the AI Impact Summit 2026, which is going to be organized at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from 16 to 20 February 2026, extensive traffic arrangements have been implemented in the capital. Keeping in mind the safety and traffic around the venue, traffic on many roads will be limited or changed. In such a situation, the people of Delhi are advised to check the traffic advisory before leaving home, so that unnecessary traffic jams can be avoided.
From the Prime Minister to tech giants and industry personalities will be included.
The summit will be attended by many international leaders and industry personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and OpenAI head Sam Altman. Lakhs of people have registered for this event, while around 10 thousand foreign delegates are expected to reach Delhi. It is being considered an important event to decide the direction of Artificial Intelligence field in India.
In such a situation, in view of this global event, traffic on many routes will be restricted and affected. Vehicles whose destination is not Delhi will be diverted to other alternative routes along the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways.
There will be strictness on these routes, plan the route before travelling.
Many major roads in Pragati Maidan and surrounding areas will be affected. These include Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Sardar Patel Marg, Janpath, Ferozshah Road, Shanti Path, Satya Marg, Africa Avenue, Kamal Ataturk Marg, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, C-Hexagon, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Bhikaji Cama Place to Moti Bagh flyover), Sikandar Road, Mathura Road (Zoo to Tilak Marg), Subramaniam Bharti. Marg, Bhairon Marg and Rajesh Pilot Marg. Traffic on these routes may be limited or diversion may be implemented.
Travel will be easy through these alternative routes
The traffic police has suggested some alternative routes so that passengers face minimum hassle. According to this, vehicles going towards Bhairon Marg can use the ITO-Ashram section of the Ring Road or the Pragati Maidan Tunnel.
- Safdarjung Marg or Aurobindo Marg would be a better option for Rajesh Pilot Marg.
- Passengers on Mathura Road should use Ring Road or Lala Lajpat Rai Marg from Sarai Kale Khan-Ashram.
- For those going towards Subramaniam Bharati Marg, Archbishop Markarius Marg and Maharishi Raman Marg are suggested.
Apart from this, routes like Motilal Nehru Marg, Dara Shikoh Marg, Talkatora Road, San Martin Marg, Tolstoy Marg, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Niti Marg, Nyaya Marg, Lodhi Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg and Man Singh Road can also be used as alternatives.
More than 10 thousand security personnel deployed with special arrangements at examination centers
Strict security arrangements have been made in the capital during the summit. About 10 thousand policemen will be deployed, out of which about 5 thousand will be traffic police personnel. Delhi Traffic Police will continuously issue real-time updates on social media platforms, so that people can change their routes in time. Many foreign delegates will be staying in major hotels of the city like The Oberoi, Taj Mahal, ITC Maurya and The Leela, due to which the traffic pressure in these areas may also increase.
More than 30 schools falling within a five kilometer radius of Bharat Mandapam will be affected by this special traffic plan. Whereas there are 10 schools on the route made for VVIP movement, which will also have board examination centres. About 2,943 students will take the exam there. Alternative routes have also been suggested to reach these schools. For which coordination has been done with the education department. Under this, a plan has been made to deploy officers around each school, so that the candidates do not face any difficulties in reaching the examination center on time.
