Heart-wrenching news has come out from Akola district of Maharashtra. A massive fire broke out in a house in Adgaon Budruk village of Akot tehsil on February 12 at around 7 pm. Three people including a 6 year old girl died in this accident.

According to the information, the fire broke out in Sheikh Ibrahim’s house located near the weekly market. All three people living in the house were tenants. The fire spread so fast that the people inside the house did not even get a chance to come out.

3 died in the accident

The deceased have been identified as Swara Prabhudas Solanke (6) and Anil Ukarda Chavan (27), who died on the spot. Whereas Ratna Ukarda Chavan (55) was seriously burnt. He was first taken to Akot Rural Hospital and later when his condition worsened, he was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Akola, where he also died during treatment.
There was chaos in the village after the fire. The villagers themselves tried to extinguish the fire and the Gram Panchayat made arrangements for water. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade vehicles from Telhara and Akot reached the spot. After much effort the fire was brought under control.

This is why the fire started

Local people allege that a large quantity of diesel was kept inside the house, that too in an unsafe manner. He says that due to diesel the fire took a huge form within a few minutes. However, in the initial investigation by the police, short circuit has been cited as the possible reason.

Akot ACP Nikhil Patil, Tehsildar Mahesh Ramgunde and officials of Hiwarkhed police station were present at the spot. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the forensic team was also called and the Panchnama proceedings continued till late night.

There were no doctors present even in the health center

Negligence of health services has also come to light in this incident. The burnt people were first taken to the nearest primary health centre, but there was no doctor or staff present there. The situation became more serious due to delay in first aid.

At present, the police have said that the real cause of the fire will be clearly revealed only after the forensic investigation and detailed report of the fire department comes. There is an atmosphere of mourning and anger in the entire village after this accident.
