A passenger bus going from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker on Monday (17 November 2025). 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared dead in this tragic accident. According to initial reports, the incident occurred at a place called Mufrihat at around 1:30 am IST. All the people sitting in the bus are said to be residents of Hyderabad, which included women, children and men. These included 20 women and 11 children.
Many passengers were sleeping and had no idea of the accident. After completing Umrah, everyone was going towards Medina, where they wanted to reach for Ziyarat. According to local officials, the exact number of casualties and information about survivors is still not available. However, the rescue operation is going on.
