Ayushman Card: In today’s era, treatment is becoming expensive with changing times. It becomes difficult for financially weaker families to treat many serious diseases. Keeping this, the government is providing free treatment to the poor and needy families of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
This health insurance scheme of the government has included all people aged 70 years or older, whether their income is less or more. Apart from this, those people are also eligible for this scheme, who are not getting the benefit of any other health scheme. However, people will not get the benefit of this scheme to get tax paying, economically prosperous, PF or ESIC.

- Go to its official portal http://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/ to check whether you are eligible for this scheme or not.
- Now click on ‘AM I Eligible’ option.
- Enter your mobile number and verify the OTP on it.
- After this, fill your name, state, district, etc.
- If your name is in the list, then you are eligible for this scheme.

Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are covered for breast, cervical, oral, gastrointestinal and lung cancer.
Neurological diseases
Stroke and paralysis, brain tumors, epilepsy treatment, spinal disease and Parkinson’s covered.
Kidney and Urological Diseases
Chronic kidney disease (CKD), kidney transplant, dialysis, and uranary tract infections are covered.
Liver and Gastroinetestinal Disease
Liver cirrhosis, hepatitis B and C, gallstones, appendicitis surgery and hornia are treated.
