Tripura bank holiday: Today i.e. Monday 26 May 2025, there will be a holiday of all the private and government banks. In such a situation, if you do not know about this and reach the bank, then you may have to come back without work. That is, the customers of the bank will not be able to get any of their work done today. However, this holiday will remain in force in only one state and that is the state- Tripura.
Bank closed in Tripura
The reason for this is Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday celebrated every year on 26 May. Nazrul Islam was a great writer, musician and poet and revolutionary of Bengal. Hence he was known as rebel poet. Kazi Nazrul Islam raised a loud voice against English rule, religious fanaticism and social justice through his writing.
There is a great glimpse of equality, freedom and human dignity in his songs, writing and poems. Therefore, in honor of Nazrul Islam, the government of Tripura has announced to keep the bank closed. After this, on May 29, there will be a holiday of banks in Shimla. The reason for this is the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap on this day.
Bank will be open this Saturday
Although there should be a holiday of banks in Tripura, but digital services like UPI, IMPS, mobile banking and net banking will continue to work like the apprehension. Apart from this, banks will not have a holiday this time on the last Saturday of this month. The reason for this is that this is the fifth Saturday. Therefore, the bank is going to be closed for two days next week in Agartala and Shimla because June 1 is Sunday.
According to RBI guidelines, the bank holiday is on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, while the remaining two are full day work on Saturday. Apart from this, banks also have a holiday on Sunday.
