US President Donald Trump has given a strict warning amid the ongoing massive protests in Iran. He has said that if the Iranian government kills peaceful protesters, America will not remain silent.
Trump’s statement: America ‘fully prepared’
Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, ‘We are fully prepared and ready to take action.’ He clearly said that if peaceful protesters were killed in Iran, America would come to their rescue.
Violent clashes in Iran, 7 people died
At least seven people have died so far in clashes between security forces and protesters in Iran. These demonstrations started on Sunday (December 28, 2025) and spread across the country within no time.
Inflation and currency crisis became the reason for protest
The protests began in the capital, Tehran, where businessmen took to the streets to protest the government’s handling of currency collapse, economic stagnation and rising inflation. Iran’s inflation rate had increased to 42.5 percent in December.
The movement intensified due to the students’ landing
On Tuesday (December 30, 2025), the agitation became more violent after students from at least 10 universities joined the demonstration. Many markets have been closed and the government declared a holiday citing cold, bringing a large part of the country to a standstill.
Protest spread in many provinces
According to CNN’s report, the demonstrations spread to many provinces in the last 24 hours. At some places the protests turned violent and there were face-to-face clashes with security forces. According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, protesters threw stones at police and set fire to several vehicles. The agency claimed that some armed miscreants took advantage of the crowd. Later the security forces also recovered weapons from many people.
President Pezeshkian’s soft stance
The civilian government led by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has shown willingness to negotiate with the protesters. He said in a program broadcast on state TV, ‘If we are not able to solve the livelihood problems of the people from the Islamic point of view, then we will have to face hell.’
Iranian economy is already under pressure from sanctions
Iran’s economy has been under pressure for years due to US and Western sanctions related to its nuclear program. The 12-day conflict with Israel in June worsened the situation, further weakening the government’s financial position.
