Trump once again considered the activities of American businessman George Soros suspicious and claimed that he provides funds to the protests in the US. This is the reason that the US President has indicated action on him under the ‘Rico’ i.e. ‘Raccier Influenced and Current Organizations’ Act. Soros’s NGO ‘Open Society Foundation’ has termed the allegations as baseless.

Trump accused Soros of ‘funding of riots’

President Donald Trump indicated that his administration could investigate fraud against George Soros or his family and accused the ‘Democratic Megadoner’ of funding protests.

In an interview to Fox News on Friday (September 12, 2025), Trump said, “We will investigate Soros, because I think it is Rico’s case against him and others, it is not just protest, but more than that.”

Trump’s warning to Soros and his son

Last month, Trump said a similar thing in ‘Truth’ social post. He warned Soros and his son that the government is keeping an eye on you. Not only this, he named the father-son duo named ‘Psychopath’s faction’.

Trump went to a restaurant in Washington DC, where a protest was held against him. Trump claims that Soros, a big donor (donor) of the Democratic Party, must have provided funds for this action. According to US media reports, Soros has donated millions of dollars to Democrats since 2020 so far. In 2025, he was awarded the ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom’.

Soros rejected Trump’s allegations

On the other hand, Soros’s NGO, Open Society Foundation has dismissed these allegations. Earlier, he had said in August, “We do not give money to people to protest, nor do we train or collect the protesters directly.”

Charges under the Rico Act are usually leveled for organized criminal activities, such as illegal betting and loan recovery. If the allegations are proved, there may be a jail sentence or a heavy penalty can be imposed.
