Starmer had termed his comment as terrible, after which the US President’s stance has softened.
Donald Trump has now made a post on the social media platform Truth Social praising the role of British soldiers in Afghanistan, calling them ‘the greatest of all warriors’. Earlier this week, during an interview with Fox News, Trump said that NATO allies’ troops defended themselves by ‘staying behind’ the front lines in Afghanistan, while 457 British soldiers were killed in the post-9/11 conflict.
