US President Donald Trump, who returned to power with the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’, has insisted on reducing America’s trade deficit by putting tariffs on countries around the world at the beginning of his second term. Meanwhile, Trump has taken a tough stand after Europe imposed a fine of $ 2.9 billion (about 29 thousand crores) on Tech company Google.
Posting on the social media platform Truth social social, President Donald Trump wrote, “Google has been fined $ 3.5 billion. It is a discriminatory action against American companies and investment. Europe has been fined Google and other American tech companies before, it is anxious with American taxpayers.”
Trump said this while citing Apple
Citing Apple, Trump said that the company was fined $ 17 billion, which was completely wrong and should get back. He warned that if Europe does not stop such actions, his government will take strict steps under Section 301 and improper fines will be challenged. The European Commission has made serious allegations against Google.
Why did European Commission impose a fine on Google?
The European Commission has imposed this fine on Google on charges of misuse of digital advertising technology. It is alleged that Google behaves unfairly with competitors and online publishers by giving priority to its services and misuses its strength in the market. This entire case has once again given air to the ongoing dispute between America and Europe over tech companies.
