US President Donald Trump has approved a bill through which strict action can be taken against countries purchasing oil from Russia. After this, American tariffs on India and China may increase significantly, in some cases it may reach 500 percent. This step has been taken to put pressure on Russia amid the Ukraine war.

Voting may take place next week
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on social media that President Trump has approved to move this bill forward. He said that the meeting with Trump was good and this bill can be voted on in Parliament next week.

Action against those buying oil from Russia
This bill has been introduced jointly by Lindsey Graham and Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal. Under this, strictness can be imposed on such countries which are deliberately buying oil and uranium from Russia. America says that this gives Russia money to continue the war.

Pressure on India, China and Brazil
According to Senator Graham, this bill will give President Trump the power to put pressure on countries like India, China and Brazil, so that they stop buying cheap Russian oil. Last year, Trump had imposed 25 percent tax on goods coming from India. Along with this, an additional tax of 25 percent was also imposed on purchasing oil from Russia. Due to this, the total tax on some Indian goods reached 50 percent and the relations between the two countries soured.

Relations with China also deteriorated
Tension has also increased between America and China regarding tax. America imposed 145 percent tax on goods coming from China, in response to which China imposed 125 percent tax on American goods.

Trump’s statement regarding India
In recent days, Trump has indicated that new taxes may be imposed on India. Speaking to reporters in Air Force One, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi knew that he was not happy. Trump said, ‘PM Modi is a good man, but it was necessary to keep me happy. We can raise taxes very quickly.

Tax warning on rice also
Last month, Trump had also threatened to impose a new tax on Indian rice. This came to light when American farmers accused India, China and Thailand of selling cheap grains in the White House.

the conversation is stuck
The ongoing talks between India and America regarding tax are currently stalled. America wants India to reduce taxes on American agricultural goods. At the same time, the Indian government has clearly said that it will not compromise on the safety of its farmers and dairy sector.
