US President Donald Trump has made a big revelation on the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Trump said that he had the opportunity to deal with an official close to Maduro, but his team decided that we would take action without help.
The US Army conducted a military operation in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and caught Maduro and his wife and took both of them to America. A case has been registered against both of them in America on charges like narco terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine and possession of weapons. Maduro has declared himself innocent in a New York court. The Supreme Court of Venezuela has appointed Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as interim President.
Trump told who has control over Venezuela
Donald Trump made it clear that he has ultimate control over Venezuela and holding elections is not possible right now, because it is necessary to stabilize the country first. Trump said in an interview with NBC News that America is not at war with Venezuela, but is at war with drug traffickers. He also warned that if the interim leadership does not cooperate, another military operation could be launched.
Trump handed over the responsibility of Venezuela to Marco Rubio
White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said that Trump has handed over the leadership of economic and political reforms in Venezuela to Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. Stephen Miller said that the Venezuelan interim government is getting full cooperation, due to which the people of Venezuela will be richer than ever. America will also get economic and military benefits.
Regarding Trump’s statement, Marco Rubio said that America will not run the day-to-day government, but will exert influence through economic pressure and military threat. Rubio stressed that the decision will be taken based on the actions of the interim government and that it is too early to talk about elections. Referring to Venezuela’s huge oil reserves, Trump has talked about investment by American companies.
