‘Tumbbad 2’ is going to make its creative level even bigger, because big international talents are now joining this much-awaited sequel. According to a source close to the project, renowned Los Angeles concept artist and creature designer Simon Lee (also known as SpiderZero) and renowned prosthetic designer Shawn Harrison have become a part of the film.

Simon Lee, known worldwide for creature design and world-building, has worked on such big projects as ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’, ‘Pacific Rim’, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Star Trek Beyond’, ‘Maleficent’ and Amazon’s series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’. Has been associated with international projects. His specialty is in creating mythological worlds and eye-popping scary creatures and these are the things that form the soul of the world of ‘Tumbbad’.

Shawn Harrison has joined this project as a prosthetic designer and he brings with him vast experience from around the world. He has worked in all the films of ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Mummy’, ‘World War Z’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and ‘Harry Potter’ as well as TV series like ‘Peaky Blinders’. With his arrival, more detail and authenticity will be seen in the characters and their looks of the film.

This sequel is being produced by actor-producer Soham Shah under his banner ‘Soham Shah Films’, and is being presented by veteran producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s ‘Penn Studios’. With Penn Studios, which has given blockbuster films like ‘RRR’ and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, joining the film, the makers are now preparing to make it on a bigger and grander visual scale than ever before.

“Given the mythology and environment of Tumbbad, the sequel required a deeper and bigger visual language. Our idea was to combine the story from our roots with some of the best creature design and prosthetic work from around the world. Simon and Shawn’s experience makes them an exciting addition to the film,” the source said.

The original ‘Tumbbad’ was praised for its haunting production design and visual detailing, which played a major role in making it a cult film. Now with an international cast and the production strength of Penn Studios, ‘Tumbbad 2’ is positioning itself as an ambitious cinematic extension of the franchise.

Although an official confirmation is still awaited from the makers, but if the discussions in the film industry are to be believed, this sequel is preparing to take its scale and mythological depth to a much bigger level.
