Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is going to call for major action in the meeting regarding Gaza in Istanbul on Monday (November 3, 2025). A source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Sunday (November 2, 2025) that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is going to call at the meeting to make arrangements as soon as possible to hand over the security and administration of Gaza to the Palestinians.
A Turkish Foreign Ministry source said that the foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia will also attend the meeting, which will focus on the progress of the ceasefire and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Fidan will emphasize on coordinated action of Muslim countries
According to Reuters report, the Foreign Ministry source said that Fidan will emphasize in the meeting that coordinated action among Muslim countries is very important, so that the current ceasefire can be converted into permanent peace.
Despite the ceasefire, incidents of violence have occurred several times
All the countries participating in the Istanbul talks also attended the meeting held with US President Donald Trump in New York, USA in the month of September during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Since the implementation of the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire agreement, many incidents of violence have occurred intermittently. But many complex issues like the disarmament of Hamas and the deadline for Israel’s withdrawal are still pending.
Relations between Turkey and Israel soured during Gaza war
According to the report, the source said that Fidan is going to say in the meeting that Israel is making excuses for breaking the ceasefire and will appeal to the international community to take a concrete stand against Israel’s provocative actions. They will also say that the humanitarian aid reaching Gaza is not enough and Israel has not fully fulfilled its responsibilities.
On the other hand, relations between Turkey and Israel have soured greatly during the Gaza war. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
