A 20 -year -old woman was allegedly gang -raped by two acquaintances on her birthday in an area of Kolkata. On Sunday (September 07, 2025), the police gave information about it. According to the police, the incident took place on Friday (05 September 2025) at Regent Park near the southern outskirts of the city.
According to police sources, after executing the incident, both the accused escaped, who have been identified as Chandan Malik and Deep. The victim, a resident of Haridevpur, informed the police that this barbarity happened to her when Chandan took her to Deep’s house on the pretext of celebrating her birthday.
Stopped from going home, then gang raped
According to the police information, on the girl’s birthday, the accused Chandan took the victim to the flap of the lamp, where she ate food. The victim told that when she wanted to return home, the accused stopped her. At first the accused closed the door, then gang -raped the victim.
The NDTV report quoted sources as saying that on Saturday (September 06, 2025), the victim managed to escape from the clutches of the accused. After returning home, he gave all the information about the incident to the family, after which the family lodged a police complaint on Saturday.
Chandan introduced the girl with lamp
The police officer said that he has started searching for the accused. The victim told that she met Chandan several months ago. He described himself as the head of a large Durga Puja Committee in South Kolkata. Through sandalwood, the woman was introduced to the lamp and the three started in touch with each other.
In her complaint, the victim said that both the accused had promised to include her in the puja committee. Let us know that even before this, the rape incident in Kolkata has been carried out. On 25 June, a law student was allegedly raped in the Law College campus of South Kolkata.
