Two girls were found hanging in the Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel in Kollam, Kerala on Thursday morning (January 15, 2025). Police said that both the girls were residents of Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. After this incident there was a sensation in the hostel.
This is how death came to light
At around 5 am in the morning, other hostel residents noticed that the two girls did not come for their training. Even after knocking on the door several times, no answer was received. After this the hostel authorities broke the door and found him hanging. Police said that the 15-year-old girl used to live in a separate room but on Wednesday night she had spent the night in the room of the 17-year-old girl.

Police said that the 17-year-old girl was an athletics trainee and studied in class 12, while the 15-year-old girl was a Kabaddi player and studied in class 10. Other hostel students had seen both of them in the morning, just a few hours before which they were present as usual.
No suicide note and investigation ongoing
Police said that no suicide note was found in the room. A report of the incident was prepared and the documents were shown to senior officials including the DGP and the police chief. The police is investigating the matter thoroughly and the hostel administration is also engaged in finding out the entire incident.
