UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reached Delhi airport, PM Modi welcomed him with a hug

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reached Delhi. UAE President received grand welcome at Delhi Airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself arrived to receive him at Delhi airport. During this, PM Modi also hugged him. This visit of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to India is taking place at a time when tension between Saudi and UAE is increasing.

PM Modi has also posted on UAE President’s visit to India. He wrote on X, ‘I went to the airport to welcome my brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. His visit shows the importance given to the strong bonds of friendship between India and UAE. I look forward to our conversation.

Third official visit after assuming the office of President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited him to visit India. This is his third official visit since assuming the post of President of UAE. He has visited India four times in the last 10 years. Earlier, in September 2025, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan and in April 2025, UAE Deputy Prime Minister Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited India.

UAE is the 7th largest source of foreign investment

The visits of UAE leaders reflect the strength between the two countries. In recent times, relations between India and UAE have become stronger. UAE is the seventh largest source of foreign investment in India. UAE has invested more than $22 billion in India since 2000. This investment is playing an important role in the development sector of India.

There have been warm relations between the two countries

Both countries are important partners in each other’s trade and investment. These include Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Local Currency Settlement (LCS) System and Bilateral Investment Treaty. Apart from this, there is also a strong energy partnership between the two countries. This includes long term supply system. There have been warm relations between the two countries. They also share stake in many areas, which is based on political, cultural and economic relations.
